Harness racing takes centre stage in Indiana tonight (Oct. 19) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park as we get the eliminations for the two-year-old Breeders Crown Trot races.
There are also several divisions of the Circuit City. As is typical at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, there are some great wagering opportunities highlighted by several multi-race betting opportunities.
Here is my full analysis of the 15-race card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Good Luck with your plays.
Best Bet – BUY A ROUND – Race 3
Spot Play – SOUTHWIND CHERRY – Race 8
50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 1 – 36/457/5/259/1245 = $36
50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 3 – 5/259/1245/12 = $12
50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 7 – 12/36/1/12 = $4
50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 11 – 5/4/237/1234/7 = $6
50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 12 – 4/237/1234/7 = $6
Race 1 – 3-6-1-4
(3) CALL ME GOO is having a terrific season with 9 wins from 12 starts. She comes in off a sharp win in the Colonial and she is the one to beat.
Race 2 – 4-5-7-2
(4) BESTFRIEND VOLO has been much faster in his last two starts and he should get an honest pace to chase here. He will probably be hard to deny.
Race 3 – Breeders Crown Elimination 2YO Filly Trotters – Top 3 advance to the Final
5-4-7-1
(5) BUY A ROUND, winner of five of her last six, showed how good she is in her most recent start when she overcame a slow early pace then bravely held off the filly that rode her cover. She will be a single for me.
Race 4 – 5-9-2-1
(5) BIT OFA TIGER A is razor sharp and races off the claim here and he gets my nod to get the job done.
Race 5 – Breeders Crown Elimination 2YO Filly Trotters – Top 3 advance to the Final
4-2-1-5
(4) PIZZELLE comes in off a sharp first-over win in the International Stallion Stakes and her strong late speed should play well here. I’ll give her a slight nod in this small but contentious field.
Race 6 – 1-2-3-5
(1) OUTLAW ACEOFSPADES is on a roll for trainer George, and he should get another great trip starting from the rail here. Call to repeat.
Race 7 – Breeders Crown Elimination 2YO Filly Trotters – Top 3 advance to the Final
1-2-3-5
(1) WARRAWEE MICHELLE comes off a strong 2nd to the filly who got a buy into the Final of this race. She should be tough to beat tonight starting from the rail.
Race 8 – 3-6-4-2
(3) SOUTHWIND CHERRY is peaking as the season progresses and she has shown an affinity for this track. I’ll give her the nod here expecting her to go off as the second or third choice.
Race 9 – Breeders Crown Elimination 2YO colts and geldings – Top 4 advance to the Final
1-2-3-4
(4) KARL should have no trouble getting back on the winning track here, but he will go off as a very heavy favorite.
Race 10 – 1-2-3-5
(1) BURNOUT consistently performs around the 1:50 range and he should be able to make his own trip here starting from the rail.
Race 11 – Breeders Crown Elimination 2YO colts and geldings – Top 4 advance to the Final
5-3-2-7
(5) SECURITY PROTECTED only had one bad result so far this year and it came in the Mohawk Million when he got parked the mile. He should handle this group.
Race 12 – 4-3-9-6
(4) TELL’S ON A ROLL crushed in the ISS Super Final here and she will be very tough in here if she comes close to replicating that dominant effort.
Race 13 – 7-3-2-4
Ohio sensation (7) JET HILL stacks up well vs. these and he should offer a decent price starting from the outside post; top call.
Race 14 – 1-2-4-3
This is a good spot for (1) BAMBOOZLER to take control at the start and lead all the way.
Race 15 – 7-2-8-1
(7) ROLLIN ROSIE powered home in the ISS Super Final but her stablemate was long gone on the lead. She should handle this field as a big favorite.
