Harness Analyst – Breeders Crown Saturday

In harness racing, it all comes down to the Breeders Crown! And we get eight finals tonight and another ton of great wagering opportunities, including a 20-Cent Pick 8 that is made up of all eight of the Breeders Crown Finals at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.

Here are my thoughts on the 15-race card. Best of luck with your plays.

Best Bet – GRACE HILL – Race 12

Spot Play – AIR POWER – Race 11

50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 1 – 567/4/45/4/156 = $9

50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 3 – 45/4/156/1247 = $12

50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 6 – 1247/27/1/127/5 = $12

50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 7 – 27/1/127/5 = $3

20-Cent Pick 8 – 1/127/5/13610/1810/4/25910/3 = $28.80

50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 11 – 13610/1810/4/25910/3 = $24

Race 1 – 7-6-5-1

(7) BILLY CLYDE took the worst of it early in the mile last week and it cost him late. He should beat these if he gets a slightly better trip.

Race 2 – 4-7-10-3

(4) FOX VALLEY LADEN is 10 for 12 this year and this looks like a good spot for him to win his 11th; top call.

Race 3 – 4-5-3-2

This looks like another battle of the Jets and (4) JET HILL should get the measure of (5) PONDA JET again tonight.

Race 4 – 4-10-2-1

(4) DEAN B HANOVER drops to a much easier spot here and he picks up Tetrick. He should be tough to beat as the chalk.

Race 5 – 1-6-5-3

(1) WHY NOT NOW is on a big roll that will likely continue with him starting from the rail tonight.

Race 6 – 2-7-1-4

Interesting race here being that it is a $250,000 claiming event. I’ll take a price stab with (2) IM SIR BLAKE A, who should get a good trip racing close to the front in this spot.

Race 7 – 2-7-8-3

(2) DC BATGIRL is capable of a much better effort starting from an inside post as seen in her close 2nd two starts back and she could offer some big value at 20 to 1 in the morning line.

Race 8 – The Breeders Crown Open Mares Trot

1-3-6-2

(1) JIGGY JOG S. is the dominant mare in this division right now and it’s hard to see her getting beat tonight.

Race 9 – The Breeders Crown Final for 3YO Filly Trotters

1-2-7-5

(1) SPECIAL WAY is the best in this division when she is on here game, and I’ll side with her here starting from the rail.

Race 10 – The Breeders Crown Final for 3YO Pacing Fillies

5-7-1-6

(5) SYLVIA HANOVER saved plenty in the tank last week and she should be more aggressive tonight and much better in this final.

Race 11 – Breeders Crown Final for 3YO Colt and Gelding Trotters

6-1-10-3

(6) AIR POWER has shown in the past that he is fast enough to beat these when he behaves, and I’ll take a price swing with him tonight.

Race 12 – Breeders Crown Open Mares Pace

8-10-1-2

(8) GRACE HILL wasn’t used much last week in her elimination, and she will be all out to defend her Breeders Crown here. She should be tough to get past if she turns for home with the lead.

Race 13 – Breeders Crown Final for 3YO Pacing Colts and Geldings

4-1-3-6

(4) CONFEDERATE has shown no reason to go against him when he faces sophomores, enough said.

Race 14 – Breeders Crown Open Trot

9-5-2-10

(9) ALRAJAH ONE IT is the best in this division and drawing the widest post might make his price viable here.

Race 15 – Breeders Crown Open Pace

3-2-10-7

(3) TATTOO ARTIST has been perhaps the sharpest horse in the entire sport in the past month and he is the one to knock off here.
