Harness racing takes centre stage at Dover Downs today (Nov. 16) with the Grand Circuit coming to town.
We have two competitive Progress Pace eliminations for sophomore pacing colts and geldings in the and there is also a $110,000 final of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings.
Here is how I see tonight’s 15-race card. Best of luck with your plays.
Best Bet – STUNNERS WISH – Race 7
Spot Play – MOMENT IS HERE – Race 10
$1 Pick 4 – Race 2 – 6789/268/2/467 = $36
$1 Pick 5 – Race 6 – 57/1/12/1236/237 = $48
$1 Pick 4 – Race 10 – 237/7/26/125 = $18
Race 1 – 8-3-6-5
(8) FEHERTY just missed with Tetrick in the bike on 11/1 and he looks solid to lead these all the way.
Race 2 – 8-7-6-9
The best horses in this field are lined up on the outside of the gate and (8) POSEIDON DEO gets the nod coming off an improved effort.
Race 3 – 2-8-6-3
(2) SWEET SUN DAZE gets Tetrick in the bike racing off the claim and this might be the spot where he gets off the schneid and takes his first victory of the year.
Race 4 – 2-7-8-1
(2) MASTER RIGGER gets post advantage on his main rivals here and I’ll give him the nod in a spot where he should get a good trip.
Race 5 – 8-7-4-6
(8) AMAZON won when claimed and he keeps Tetrick for this start. He has a good chance to repeat.
Race 6 – 7-5-1-9
(7) IM A STABLE GENIUS almost pulled off a huge upset here on 11/2 and he gets a slightly better post now. This race should come down to him and (5) ATS HANOVER. I’ll use them both in the opening leg of the $1 Pick 5.
Race 7 – 1-2-9-5
(1) STUNNERS WISH draws perfectly for an all-out speed try and I see Morgan sending him right down the road.
Race 8 – 1-2-6-4
(1) EL REY will be happy to see Confederate isn’t lined up to his right today and he should be tough to beat from the rail in this first elimination of the Progress Pace.
Race 9 – 1-3-6-2
(1) IMOUTTHEDOOR figures to race to the front tonight and he could trip out and blow up the tote board in this spot; call to upset.
Race 10 – 7-3-2-1
(7) MOMENT IS HERE joined the Burke Brigade as a $285,500 buy after winning the Super Final in Ontario and he got a good tightener in at Harrah’s Philly beating some elders. He may blast and last at a price in this second elimination of the Progress Pace.
Race 11 – 7-8-1-9
(7) VERDUN steps up off a sharp win and he seems to be at his sharpest now so he should handle the class rise; top call.
Race 12 – 2-6-1-3
This edition of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Final should be a battle between (2) BEAT COP and (6) PAPAS SON, who both dominated in their respective eliminations last week. Slight nod to the former who has Tetrick and the inside post.
Race 13 – 7-6-1-9
(7) MACK just jogged over some of tonight’s rivals, and he gets the call to repeat coming off that sharp effort.
Race 14 – 7-9-1-6
(7) WANNABEWITHYOU raced tough in defeat at this level last time and he gets Tetrick in the bike today. He looks solid in here.
Race 15 – 1-5-2-6
(1) TYPHOON STRIDE N gets class relief and his nose back on the gate tonight and he can beat these racing on or near the lead throughout.
