Harness racing takes centre stage in Indiana tonight (Oct. 13) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park as they crown their Indiana Sires Stakes champions. All 15 races feature the sires stakes racehorses in either finals or consolations.
Here is my full analysis of the card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Good Luck with your plays.
Best Bet – KOBE’S GIGI – Race 11
Spot Play – TEELATINI – Race 6
50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 1 – 1349/2358/35/6/29 = $32
50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 3 – 35/6/29/4569 = $8
50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 7 – 2/1236/9/1256 = $8
50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 11 – 9/1238/128/2/1246 = $24
$20,000 guaranteed Pick 4 – Race 12 – 1238/128/2/1246 = $24
Race 1 – 9-1-3-4
(9) SKYWAY MASTERPIECE is the sharpest horse in here and he is good enough to overcome the widest post, but he is no lock from out there. I’d consider using a couple of others in the Pick 5.
Race 2 – 8-5-3-2
(8) ART IT IS gets Dunn in the bike tonight and this gelding has shown he can pace in 1:51 and change when driven aggressively. Call to upset.
Race 3 – 3-5-10-4
This Super Final looks like a race between two fillies: (3) HELPOFTHESEASON and (5) NATURDAYS. I’ll give a slight nod to the former who has better tactical speed and can get the jump on the latter.
Race 4 – 6-5-4-3
(6) SUPRIZE ME WENT has done nothing wrong in her four-race career and she looks best here. She can overcome the widest post in a short field.
Race 5 – 2-9-10-8
(2) DOVER IN MOTION flew late in his first start in close to 11 months and if he comes back sharper with that race under his belt, his rivals will likely be racing for 2nd here.
Race 6 – 4-5-6-9
(4) TEELATINI will be driven more aggressively with $250,000 on the line in this Super Final and she gets the nod to turn the tables on (5) LYIN’ EYES, who comes in hot and is the one to fear.
Race 7 – 2-1-5-4
(2) JUSMAKINYALOOK tuned up for this sires stakes final with an easy win over many of tonight’s rivals and she is the clear one to beat at what will be a very short price.
Race 8 – 1-6-2-3
(1) HELPHASARRIVED looks best here, and he figures to be tough to beat starting from the rail.
Race 9 – 9-5-10-7
(9) ROLLIN ROSIE has only one loss in each of her first two seasons and she should be able to overcome the outside post and take her 13th win in 15 starts.
Race 10 – 5-6-2-1
(5) TALENT SCOUT is 2 for 2 with Dunn driving him in ISS races and he should be tough in this $250,000 Super Final.
Race 11 – 9-2-1-4
(9) KOBE’S GIGI is the fastest and classiest mare in this race, and she will be tough to beat here despite drawing widest.
Race 12 – 8-3-2-1
(8) MARTZ TELLY is getting hot at the right time and getting Dunn for this $250,000 Super Final won’t hurt; top call.
Race 13 – 1-8-2-10
(1) BUZZSAW RUSS can work out another nice trip racing near the front then use his lethal late kick to pounce in this Super Final.
Race 14 – 3-10-2-7
(3) PONDA WARRIOR got a perfect tightener in for this sires stakes engagement and he will likely be hard to hold off late.
Race 15 – 2-1-6-4
(2) FEETMADEFORDANCIN adds Lasix here and that might help facilitate her producing her best effort. I’ll give her a slight nod in a tough race.
