We get the third leg of the harness racing trotting Triple Crown at The Red Mile this afternoon, it’s Kentucky Futurity day!
Once again, we are in store for some great Grand Circuit action and some excellent betting opportunities with several low takeout multi-race bets on the wagering menu.
Here is my full analysis of this 15-race card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Good luck with your plays.
Best Bet – SYLVIA HANOVER – Race 8
Spot Play – LITTLE EXPENSIVE – Race 6
15% Takeout 20-Cent Pick 6 – Race 1 – 1/2/1/3457/3467/25 = $6.40
12% Takeout 50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 3 – 1/3457/3467/25/125 = $48
12% Takeout 50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 6 – 25/125/5/127 = $9
12% Takeout 50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 8 – 5/127/2679/1/6 = $6
12% Takeout 50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 12 – 6/19/24610/257 = $12
Race 1 – 1-5-2-3
(1) M-M’s DREAM draws much better here and she doesn’t have to face arch-rival Jiggy Jog S. She should kick off the 20-Cent Pick 6 with a front end win.
Race 2 – 2-5-1-3
(2) GRACE HILL is the dominant mare in this division when she is in peak form and condition and she is another Pick 6 single here.
Race 3 – 1-7-10-2
(1) AKRAJAH ONE IT took the worst of it at Dayton yet was still only picked off in the final strides. He should rebound here starting from the rail.
Race 4 – 7-4-3-5
(7) ALLYWAG HANOVER got an impossible trip at Dayton from a wide post. The 7-hole in this field isn’t as bad and he has a good shot at a decent price.
Race 5 – 7-6-4-3
(7) VICI is only 1 for 17 but he has been facing some tough sophomore stakes colts recently. This looks like a good spot for him.
Race 6 – 5-2-1-4
(5) LITTLE EXPENSIVE seems to hold a tactical edge on this group and he figures to be tough to catch in this spot.
Race 7 – 1-5-2-8
(1) SILLY ME HANOVER is in much easier here and Gingras will likely activate her earlier in this race; top call.
Race 8 – 5-2-3-7
(5) SYLVIA HANOVER was stellar taking care of rival Twin B Joe Fresh here on 9/30 and this should be an easier assignment. She is hard to go against.
Race 9 –7-1-2-9
(7) BARRY’S BERRIES withstood a tough trip last time to win at Scioto and he will likely offer a good price in this field; call to upset. .
Race 10 – 9-7-6-2
This is a great betting race with several contending sophomore filly trotters. I’ll side with (9) BOND who is razor sharp and should offer a square price starting from a wide post.
Race 11 – 1-7-4-3
(1) SEVEN COLORS was unlucky in Delaware but he can make his own luck here drawing the rail.
Race 12 – 6-7-5-4
(6) TWIN B JOE FRESH should take care of business here with no Sylvia Hanover to contend with.
Race 13 – 9-1-8-6
(9) CONFEDERATE will need to overcome the widest draw to handle his arch rival (1) ITS MY SHOW in what could be one of the best matchups of the year in harness racing.
Race 14 – 6-2-4-10
This is a wide-open race and I’ll look for some value with (6) WINDWOOD JACK on top.
Race 15 – 2-7-5-6
(2) CELEBRITY BAMBINO looks new and improved since they started racing off a helmet and he could get the best trip in this edition of the Kentucky Futurity. I’ll give him a slight nod over Hambletonian champ (7) TACTICAL APPROACH who is in terrific form and is the obvious horse to beat.
