Harness Analyst – Northfield 17th January

We have another interesting mid week harness racing card at Northfield Park: “Home of the flying turns” tonight.

Here is my full analysis of the 15-race card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Good Luck with your plays.

Best Bet – MAYHEM LIKE ME – Race 13

Spot Play – SUPER SPIRIT – Race 4

$1 Pick 4 – Race 2 – 146/378/37/36 = $36

$1 Pick 5 – Race 6 – 1/5689/26/6/1234 = $24

$1 Pick 4 – Race 11 – 234/23/1/129 = $18

Race 1 – 3-5-2-7

(3) KENOBI worked out a good trip and took his first win since being acquired by The Stable and he looks good to repeat in this spot.

Race 2 – 6-4-1-3

(6) BIA’S MELODY was a comfortable winner at this level two starts back then she broke stride on Sunday night here. She fires back quickly, and she will be the one to beat if she stays flat.

Race 3 – 8-3-7-5

(8) JUSTABITOFCHARM should find this conditioned field easier than the $8K straight claimers and I’ll take a price stab with her starting from the widest post.

Race 4 – 3-7-6-1

(3) SUPER SPIRIT is a six-time winner facing eight rivals that have combined to take only eight wins as a group. He also gets post relief here and this is where he can break a winless streak.

Race 5 – 3-6-5-7

Tough race here looking at a field that has taken a combined 6 wins in 246 starts. (3) FITZ BOBBINS has the best recent form if you toss last week’s line where broke at the start. He is the most likely winner if he stays flat.

Race 6 – 1-3-7-6

(1) CELEBRITY PEGASUS was facing much better than these when last seen here two starts back and he gets Merriman and the rail tonight. Beat him to greet the cashier.

Race 7 – 5-6-9-8

(5) PICKLED PEPPER was out a long way last time and still prevailed. This spot doesn’t look much tougher, and he gets the call to repeat.

Race 8 – 2-6-4-5

(2) WALTERS KEEPSAKE gets A Mac back in the bike tonight and I’d be shocked if he doesn’t blast to get pocketed behind expected pacesetter (6) WHAT’S THE TALK. I see the former being a pocket rocket in the lane and getting the job done.

Race 9 – 6-4-2-1

(6) BAIT A HOOK raced better when dropped to this level last week now he gets Merriman in the bike. It’s go time.

Race 10 – 2-1-3-4

(2) GET THE CASH made up a lot of ground late in the mile last week and he gets the nod starting from an inside post again tonight.

Race 11 – 2-4-3-1

(2) PANTHER TIME raced better with Merriman in the bike last week and he projects to get a pocket trip here and getting the job done.

Race 12 – 2-3-6-9

(2) MANHATTANUP NO ICE couldn’t be much sharper, and he has a great shot of extending his win streak tonight.

Race 13 – 1-7-5-2

(1) MAYHEM LIKE ME drawing the rail should be all he needs to get back on the winning track here.

Race 14 – 1-9-2-3

(1) RAINBOW DESIGN drew two 8 holes in a row now he gets the best post. He should be the one to beat here with rail advantage.

Race 15 – 4-2-1-6

(4) ROSE RUN YAKIM draws much better here and he has a good chance to go right down the road from post 4; top call.
