Rosecroft Raceway hosts the best aged pacers in harness racing tonight (Nov. 9) in the $125,000 Potomac Pace which is also the final leg in a Pick 4. We get the rematch of the Breeders Crown between Bythemissal and Tattoo Artist.
Here are my thoughts on tonight’s 14-race card. Best of luck with your plays.
Best Bet – (5) TAPPED TEEN – Race 9
Spot Play – (3) SHIM – Race 7
50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 9 – 5/2457/57/147 = $12
Race 1 – 9-1-4-5
(9) LUCK ON THE BEACH comes off a very strong effort at this level when narrowly defeated and he is strictly the one to beat in the first half of the Double.
Race 2 – 5-8-2-1
Tough race here when you are looking at a field with combined records of 14 for 326 lifetime. I’ll side with (5) GREEN EGGS N CAM who adds Lasix coming off a decent two-move effort.
Race 3 – 6-9-3-5
(6) DAS DEO gets the call to repeat coming off a career-best score.
Race 4 – 7-4-9-3
(7) WALDEN WOODS has been facing tougher at Harrah’s Philly. He should wake up in this spot.
Race 5 – 2-7-4-3
(2) TOO SOON BG might be able to get away on the front end here; price play.
Race 6 – 4-1-6-8
(4) ISLAND OF THE SEA is perfectly drawn here for a big speed try in this Invitational race; top call.
Race 7 – 3-5-7-9
(3) SHIM moves back inside and that should make him the one to catch here.
Race 8 – 1-3-4-2
(1) HIDE THE CHEDDAR didn’t get the best trip when dropped to this level last time. I’ll give him the nod here starting from the rail.
Race 9 – 5-3-2-8
(5) TAPPED TEEN drops to a logical spot and he should lead all the way at this level.
Race 10 – 7-5-4-2
(7) TOMS TWILIGHT has made explosive moves in both of his last two starts and he will get a solid pace to chase in this spot; call to repeat.
Race 11 – 7-5-1-3
(7) AROUND MIDNIGHT comes off a solid first up effort and he picks up Louis Roy tonight. I can see him going right down the road in this spot.
Race 12 – $125,000 Potomac Pace
1-7-4-5
We get eight of the sport’s best aged pacers lined up to contest this year’s edition of the Potomac Pace. (4) ALLYWAG HANOVER was drawn in the second tier for that race now he gets his nose on the gate. Last year in this race, he set a 1:46 4/5 world record. Let’s call him to notch the upset and become a repeat winner tonight, (1) TATTOO ARTIST took the worst of it in Indiana in the Breeders Crown, stung to make front in the first `1/2 on a speed killing track. He has some options starting from the rail and he is an obvious threat. (7) BYTHEMISSAL got an expert steer to win that Breeders Crown, but he has been good all year and he another very capable rival. (5) ABUCKABETT HANOVER can close late and land in the bottom of the exotics.
Race 13 – 7-6-8-2
(7) JACK ROGER stepped up off a win, but he looks solid in this spot to double up, likely racing on the lead again.
Race 14 – 6-7-8-9
(6) SEA OF LIFE gets Tetrick tonight in a spot where it looks like he can make front early then lead his rivals on a merry chase.
