There is a great Sunday (Aug. 27) afternoon of harness racing lined up at beautiful Tioga Downs in New York. We have two divisions each of the Empire Breeders Classic for sophomore pacing colts and geldings and two ore divisions for the filly pacers. There are also New York Sires Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies.
Here is my full analysis of this 15-race card and some multi-race tickets to consider. Good Luck this afternoon.
Best Bet – (3) TWIN B JOE FRESH – Race 12
Spot Play – (5) TICKERTAPE HANOVER – Race 6
50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 6 – 5/3,5,7,8/3,4,6,7/1,6 = $16
Race 1 – 4-1-5-2
(4) FRESH LEGS drops to the Excelsior level where her late kick should be too much for her rivals. She gets the nod in the lid lifter.
Race 2 – 3-2-9-1
I like the way that (3) GANDY DANCER closed in the Vernon slop. and she picks up Dunn to drive now. Price play.
Race 3 – 6-3-8-4
(6) POSH ONTHE BEACH A comes off a solid effort and draws better than the rival that beat him last time. He also picks up Lauren Tritton to drive and he gets the nod today.
Race 4 – 6-3-2-1
(6) BRONX BARISTA looks best here and I think she can grind these down racing first-over.
Race 5 – 3-5-1-8
(3) JUST DON’T WAIT gets both post and class relief this afternoon and he should have a good shot vs. these at a price.
Race 6 – 5-4-1-3
(5) TICKERTAPE HANOVER gets Dunn in the bike for this division of the Empire Breeders Classic and I think that means that he will be uber aggressive. If he can clear to the front by the time they reach the 1/4, she could be gone.
Race 7 – 7-3-5-8
(7) ATTA BOY DAN races off the claim and returns quicker this time. I’ll take a price stab with him in a race with no standout.
Race 8 – 3-4-6-7
(3) VIVANS DREAM set an insanely fast pace at Batavia. She was never going to last after cutting a 53.3 opening 1/2. She gets Hennessey in the bike now; top call.
Race 9 – 1-6-5-2
(1) THIRD EDITION figures to get another good trip racing near the front again and he gets top billing.
Race 10 – 5-4-6-3
(5) METAL MAN can get a slightly easier trip here starting from post 5 and he is the one to beat.
Race 11 – 6-3-1-9
(6) ANOTHERSTATEMENT A shoots for a sixth straight win and he is sharp as a tack. He is the one to catch and beat.
Race 12 – 3-1-7-2
(3) TWIN B JOE FRESH just beat open fillies in a Grand Circuit race. She should dominate here at a short price.
Race 13 – 9-1-6-7
(9) HOWTOTRAINURDRAGON gets a slight class drop and that may be all he needs to get the job done this afternoon.
Race 14 – 2-6-5-1
(2) SEA PEARL has a great chance to make front in this spot and she could lead all the way at a decent price.
Race 15 – 2-1-9-4
Dunn picks up another live drive here in (2) VICEVERSA BLUECHIP who showed sharp improvement at Vernon in breaking her maiden. This is another that should be send forward leaving the gate that has a big shot.
