Harness Analyst – Yonkers 23rd April carryover pick five

Tonight’s harness racing action from Yonkers Raceway features a nice Pick 4 carryover of $29,091 and a guaranteed pool of $75,000. The sequence starts in Race 5.

It’s a great wagering opportunity, so let’s take a swing:

Race 5: 2,4,5,6

(2) YS SENSATIONALCITY was used hard early to make front last time and she almost held on. He is a must-use here starting from an inside post.

(4) NUTTINBUTHEBEST is right there most weeks, and she was most recently 2nd in a fast mile at this level. Her positional speed makes her a threat.

(5) WHATINEEDISAMAN steps up off the claim tonight, but she is razor-sharp, and she is another in with a decent chance.

(6) NO WIN NO FEED A drops a class level here and Gingras will no doubt be looking to impose his will. She’s hard to leave out.

Race 6: 1

(1) RENAISSANCE DEO comes off a huge winning mile where he paced an uncovered 27-flat third quarter then drove away for the victory. He will be a single for me starting from the advantageous rail.

Race 7: 2,4,5,6,8

(2) STATESIDE DEUCE re-rallied well between horses from the pocket last week and he figures to get a good trip here starting from an inside post.

(4) BUGABOO LOU qualified in 1:51.2 for the Burke Brigade preparing for this return race after pulling up in his last start. He can bounce back in this spot.

(5) HUNTERS HERO got eliminated last time when he was racing first up, and the leader drifted out heading into the last turn and carried him wide. He is capable with the right trip; price look.

(6) VICI has taken eight slices and only one win in 11 starts and perhaps has been a bit unlucky. He is another that is worth using at a price.

(8) MIDNIGHT THUNDER just took a new life’s mark, and he won’t get bet here despite winning two straight because he drew worst. He is another price horse that might add value to the Pick 5 ticket.

Race 8: 1,3,5,7

(1) LAYTON HANOVER just tripped out to win at this level and there is a good chance that he will get another great trip here starting from the rail.

(3) NAUTICAL HANOVER steps up off a win but he has shown in the past that he has the class to go with these; price look.

(5) ALL ALONE gets some post relief here and moving to the five hole might be all he needs to get back on track; see his win on 4/1.

(7) ANOTHRMASTRPIECE N is on a roll for a high percentage barn, and he is hard to leave out as he seeks his fourth straight win.

Race 9: 1

(1) ALWAYS B MIMI just missed last week in the fastest mile on this program page, and she should be the boss here starting from the rail.
