Harness News Update: Picks and analysis for Oak Grove April 30

Oak Grove is to host a 12-dash harness racing card on Tuesday (Apr. 30th). Pick 5 wagers start in both the first and sixth races. The feature race is the $30,000 Open Trot in the sixth race.

The two morning line favourites in the feature, Oh Look Magic (Lookslikeachpndale) and Iwon’t Backdown As (Lionhunter) draw the outside post positions.

Oh Look Magic has been racing well to start the year and has won two of his three starts. His won last week in the Open and trotted the mile in 1:54.1. The four-year-old gelding has eight career wins in 28 lifetime appearances and has earned over $207,000 in prize money. Ron Burke trains the Ontario bred trotter and Devon Tharps will be in the bike.

Iwon’t Backdown As finished second in last week’s Open Trot. The five-year-old gelding has yet to win this year but has improved from his ninth place in his yearly debut. The Annette Lorentzon trained trotter has won nine times in his career and earned over $374,00 in prize winnings. Tony Hall will be in the sulky once again with Iwon’t Backdown As.
