Harness Analyst – Harrah’s Philadelphia 9th July

Harrah’s Philadelphia hosts the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes today (Jul. 9) as we have a full card of afternoon harness racing. Here are my selections for the entire card and multi-race ticket ideas:

BEST BET: PIANO BAR – Race 5

SPOT PLAY: GREAT UNKNOWN – Race 8

20-Cent Pick 4 – Race 1 – 1/1,3,6,8/1,3,5,8/1,5,6 = $24

50-Cent Pick 5 – Race 5 – 2/2,3,4/5/1,2,5/1,5,7 = $13.50

50-Cent Pick 4 – Race 10 – 1,3,6/1,4/1,3/4,5,6 = $18

Race 1 – 1-5-3-2

This is a big drop to the Stallion Series for (1) TIPSY MONI. She should get the job done vs. this group.

Race 2 – 6-1-3-8

(6) MAKE IT BIG shoots for three straight wins in amateur drivers races coming off a strong winning effort at The Meadowlands. A threepeat looms here/

Race 3 – 4-5-3-8

(4) TIGERS WAY gets Miller in the bike this afternoon and a better post to work from. I’ll take a price stab with him in a wide-open race.

Race 4 – 1-6-5-4

(1) BLAKEMORE edged many of these last week and he gets the call to repeat drawing the rail again.

Race 5 – 2-1-4-5

(2) PIANO BAR looks best here and she gets a driver change to Dunn. She is clearly the one to beat.

Race 6 – 2-4-3-1

(2) STREET SMARTS is 0 for 7 this year but he has been knocking on the door and this is a good spot for him.

Race 7 – 5-3-6-4

Last time (5) RAILEE SOMETHING didn’t have to face Bond three starts back, she was a blowout winner in these sires stakes. She can get back on track today with no Bond in this field.

Race 8 – 5-2-1-4

(5) GREAT UNKNOWN brings good form in from Delaware and he picks up Todd McCarthy to drive tonight. I’ll call him to upset in a race with no standout.

Race 9 – 5-1-7-8

Tough race. I’ll give a slight nod to (5) LYONS SPIRIT expecting him to be more aggressive in this spot.

Race 10 – 1-3-6-4

(1) FASHION ANNIE moves inside and likely trips out in the pocket this afternoon then rallies to get the job done.

Race 11- 4-1-2-8

(4) SENNA was used hard to make front last week and he wasn’t beaten by much. Moving inside should help him get to the lead easier tonight and he gets the nod.

Race 12 – 1-3-4-2

(1) LADY LIRA got a useful tune up for this Stallion series race when she faced NW4 from an outside post. Drawing inside now, she will have to be caught.

Race 13 – 5-4-6-3

(5) THE DARK SHADOW raced tough in defeat last week, making several moves in fast fractions. He gets a driver upgrade to Dunn now and he gets top billing here.

Race 14 – 7-3-2-6

(7) STORM IS RAGING jogged from this post last week and he gets the call to repeat off that strong effort.

Race 15 – 1-2-3-7-4

(1) ROCKS NOBLE ARTIST set some big fractions last week and almost got the job done. He is the one to beat in this High-5 finale.
