HARRINGTON, DE – Harrington Raceway’s 79th season of live harness racing is set to kickoff Monday April 14 (post time 4:30 p.m.) with a Monday through Wednesday schedule most of the season.
Horsemen are reminded that the first qualifier will be Tuesday April 8, and will occur primarily on Wednesdays after that point throughout the season.
Improvements to the race paddock were started immediately following the conclusion of the 2024 season, including paint, all new stall mats, new chairs, benches and stall gates on all race stalls.
Applications are due March 28 and can be submitted online through the website here.
Fans will be treated to a tumbler giveaway on opening night (while supplies last) at 4:15 p.m. in the grandstand lobby. Free program pages to nightly race cards will again be available on the website courtesy of the Delaware Standardbred Owners Association.
The first draw for qualifiers will be Monday April 7 and the first race draw on Tuesday April 8.
Also new this year is racing will occur on the first night of the 10-day Delaware State Fair on July 17 with a special 5 p.m. post time.
On the wagering front, a pair of pick four (50 cents) wagers will remain, starting in race 2 and again for the last four races on the program. A 50-cent minimum base superfecta will be available in most races except for the opening legs of the pick four and non-full fields. There is no consolation payout on the pick four and superfecta as they will feature 100 percent carryovers.
There will be a customary summer break, except for the fair night card, until August 11 when racing will resume through October 22.
