Henceforth (Huntsville) moved his record to three-for-three since joining the Andy Gardner stable when on Saturday night at Saratoga Casino Hotel, the sophomore pacer won the biggest race of his young career.
Drawing post eight for his try in the Gary Kamal Memorial Pace Final on Saturday, Henceforth blasted out at the start and made the lead while sizzling past the opening quarter in 26.4. The three year old cruised through a first half in 56.2 and appeared comfortable throughout while in front of reinsman Jimmy Devaux.
Henceforth, who enjoyed a strong summer while competing in the NY Fair Circuit, had little difficultly extending his win streak to three when he stopped the timer in 1:53.1 as a four and a half length winner in the $30,400 Final.
John The Baptist (Chris Long) was a leg two winner and closed to finish second in Saturdayās Final while 50-1 longshot Favorable Draw (Brett Beckwith) earned the show spot. For Henceforth, it was the thirteenth victory of the year, although the majority of those wins came at the Fairs this summer.
