After grinding it out to the lead by the opening quarter mile, Hey Livvy (Donato Hanover) and harness racing driver Jordan Stratton had things their way in capturing the $36,000 Open Handicap Trot Thursday (April 6) at MGM Yonkers Raceway.
The 2nd race feature saw HL Revadon (Yannick Gingras) go out to the early lead and then sit the two-hole trip as Hey Livvy came on the outside to take the lead at the quarter in :28.
From there Hey Livvy and Stratton held the field at bay as the eight-year-old mare cut the mile to the half in :57.4 and then the three-quarters in 1:26.2 as Grey (George Brennan) was first-over with Credit Con (Joe Bongiorno) second-over.
By the top of the stretch, Hey Livvy opened up a five-length lead and held it down the stretch, winning by and five and one-half in 1:55.1. Grey was second with HL Revadon third.
