I Choose You (So Surreal – Rodena) and harness racing driver Marc St. Louis, Jr were pocket winners in the Northville Downs’ featured $10,800 Mares Open Pace Friday (April 14) night.
Eight-year-old I Choose You followed early pacesetter Eloquent Velocity off the car and settled for the pocket ride until the head of the stretch when she dove to the lightning lane to go on to win in a final clocking of 1:55.3 by a three-quarter-length margin of victory over the aforementioned Eloquent Velocity who was a stubborn second.
I CHOOSE YOU REPLAY
The win marked the 17th career victory for I Choose You who is trained by Danielle St. Louis and owned by Dr. Joshua Tanis who just celebrated a birthday three days prior.
In race seven, driver Bart Stimer procured driving win number 990 aboard his own trainee Stoneborough (Airzoom Lindy) who set a new lifetime mark at the age of 10 winning in 1:57.2. Stoneborough is out of the mare Ceana and now has 24 career wins and is owned by Bart Stimer.
