Cream Ridge, NJ – 11/13/21 – Yes, it is still on for Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, however, there are a few alterations to the itinerary and the scale of the event. The Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) “Holiday at the Farm” is now a Meet and Greet. The time remains the same from 1:30 to 4 pm, at 42 Arneytown-Hornerstown Rd., Cream Ridge, NJ.
The weather forecast caused the change of dates, and that resulted in many other things changing with it, such as the availability of volunteer riders; volunteer demonstrations; and volunteer help. SRF is now struggling to keep it at the level it had planned as it depends greatly on volunteers and many are now not available.
The Updated Plan Meet SRF’s 75 horses at the farm; SRF horses will be in the ring being trained and ridden; The Brooklyn Brick Oven Boys are coming; There will be free blankets and tack; Blankets and tack for sale; Firepit and roasting marshmallows; Holiday shopping sale with 15% off everything, and Horse Plop Bingo at 4pm.
The time 1:30 to 4 remains the same. The introduction to SRF’s horses and their talents to encourage adoptions and new foster homes were a couple of reasons for SRF to organize such a large event. Sharing firsthand the magnitude of the work at SRF rescuing an average of 600-800 trotters and pacers every year, bringing our supporters up close to see how their generosity impacts this mission, and raising funds to provide rehabilitation and care for the 484 under SRF’s expense and care all share the top spot of importance.
The preparation for an event of this magnitude incurred many expenses. We hope to have a full house in spite of the change. Feeding this large number of horses is a daunting responsibility. Without our guests supporting this tomorrow, the loss will be difficult to recover from.
If supporting this event tomorrow is not possible, SRF hopes for support in other ways before this year comes to a close Tickets for Horse Plop Bingo will remain available until “plop time” at 4 pm on Sunday.
Numbers can be chosen and purchased at www.adoptahorse.org/ The Online Holiday Auction is now open. It can be accessed through SRF’s website at www.adoptahorse.org/ It closes on Nov. 17 and there are so many fabulous items so please support this effort. There are many unique items.
