Incommunicado (Chapter Seven) kept alive an impressive harness racing winning streak when he dominated the featured Open trot on Saturday (Aug. 26) afternoon at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania. The race carried the dayās top purse of $30,000.
Leaving from post position #5 in a field of six (post positions were assigned for the race), Incommunicado, a five-year-old gelding trained by Ake Svanstedt, was made the 1-2 favorite. He stayed off a blistering early pace set by What Should I Go, sitting fourth until the back stretch. Thatās when driver George Napolitano Jr. called on Incommunicado for a first-over brush, and the favorite made up an eight-length deficit by the time they hit the three-quarter pole.
From there, he easily dusted What Should I Goo and hustled away to win in six lengths in 1:51:4. Amigo Volo finished second and Yanks Dugout picked up the show.
The win gives Incommunicado four wins in a row, with two of those victories at Pocono sandwiching single scores at Harrahās at Philadelphia and Yonkers. It was his fifth win in nine overall this year. Incommunicado now has 20 lifetime victories and career earnings of $673,257.
