As if leading from start to finish wasn’t good enough, Incredible Man (Always A Virgin) had to pour it on in the stretch in winning the $19,000 co-feature harness racing pace at Miami Valley Raceway Monday (Jan. 30). The track condition was listed as good with a one second allowance.
With driver Brandon Bates in the sulky, Incredible Man shot to the early lead in the 10th race from post 4 with Rose Run Xiled (Dan Noble) also leaving from post seven and grabbing the two-hole trip. They went to the opening quarter mile in :27.1.
Going to the half mile, race favorite Gamblin Mo (Trace Tetrick) came first-over with Kyuquot (Luke Hanners) second-over as Incredible Man passed the half mile marker in :55.4.
At the three-quarters in 1:23.4, Kyuquot moved into second place on the outside but Incredible Man kicked in another gear for Bates. By the top of the stretch, Incredible Man was leading by three and one-half lengths.
Down the stretch Incredible Man just increased his lead over the field, romping by six and three-quarter lengths in 1:52.3. Kyuquot was second with King’s Cruiser (Tyler Smith) third.
