It’s Pacific Time steamrolls to 7 straight

The featured event on the Saturday afternoon (August 22) Harness Racing program at Running Aces was the $11,500 three year old Minnesota-sired filly pace, with a six-pack of sophomore distaffers lining up behind the gate.

 

The talk of the tote-board was It's Pacific Time, sent off as the 1-9 favorite from post six, and looking to extend a six race winning streak that began on July 4 and included 3 wins in a row at Running Aces.

 

Driver Rick Magee sent the favored filly straight to the front and posted fractions of :27.3, :57.0 and 1:26 with Huftalookatdatfany (Nick Roland) in close pursuit in the pocket and D Vigilante (Brian Detgen) sitting third.

 

It's Pacific Time (Its That Time) then took off -sprinting to the wire to pull away by 7-1/4 lengths and stop the timer in 1:54.3 over D Vigilante who got past Huftalookatdatfany in the lane. The winning filly now has fifteen career victories and has banked $59,137 to date for owner John Hendricks. The winning trainer is Joel Mc Danel.

 

 

 

Bunkerhill Phil (Braxten Boyd) scored his second win in a row when he captured the $6,900 colts & geldings pace in the early non wagering event in 1:56. Owned, trained and bred by Gene Miller, Bunkerhill Phil now has thirteen career wins and has earned $99,049 to date.

 

Heza Real Diamond (Nick Roland, $3.20) scored a dominating victory in a $6,000 conditioned pace in 1:51 – just missing the track record for four year old pacing geldings by one-fifth of a second. It was the eighth win of the season and a new career mark for the son of Allamerican Native. The winner is owned by Orlando Nevarez and trained by Edwin Quevedo.

 

Driver Nick Roland led the Saturday program with three winners, while Dean Magee posted a driving double. Trainer Edwin Quevedo led the card with two winners.

 

Live Racing returns to Running Aces on Sunday, August 23, with first post at 1:00 pm (CDT), and will feature a carryover in the 20 cent Pick-5 Jackpot wager of $1,464.93.
