Jack Wacker explodes Pick 5 Ticket

Dayton, OH – It was 20-1 longshot Jack Wacker (JK Endofanera) who split through harness racing horses in time to win the first leg of the Pick 5 which had a guaranteed pool of $10,000.

Driven by Brett Miller for trainer Greg Henderson, Jack Wacker nosed out Fast Freddy Jo Jo and Smile Today in a photo in 1:53.1. Jack Wacker paid $20.80 to win. No winning tickets were sold for the Pick 5 so $12,815 will be carried over into the Thursday, October 5 card of racing.

Taking the $17,000 feature a NW of 10 condition claiming event was Rose Run Xplosion (Downbytheseaside). Leaving from Post 5 Rose Run Xplosion went wire to wire through fractions of 27.1, 55.4, 1:23.3 to score the fastest mile of the night in 1:51.2. Rose Run Xplosion paid $5.80 to win for trainer Phil Belanger and attributed to a driving double for Chris Page.

Dayton Raceway would like to remind participants that after a $12,815 carryover there will be a guaranteed Pick 5 Pool of $25,000 on its Thursday October 5 card. The Pick 5 is available in races 2 – 6.
