Columbus, OH — Jenna Otten has joined Eldorado Scioto Downs as the harness racing on-air host.
Otten, a recent graduate of Olivet College, will periodically travel to Caesars Entertainment’s other Standardbred racing properties, Harrah’s Hoosier Park and Harrah’s Philadelphia, during their racing seasons. She will also gain experience at Horseshoe Indianapolis, shadowing Racing Analyst & Production Manager Rachel McLaughlin.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to promote the sport of harness racing even more,” said Otten. “Joe (Morris , Senior Vice President of Racing for Caesars Entertainment) has given me the opportunity to travel to different tracks and put out as much content as I can. It’s going to be a fun summer and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Otten’s family background in harness racing gives her a conversational tone that cannot be taught to someone with broadcast experience without familiarity in the sport. Her father, Peter, is a driver/trainer from Michigan with 532 training wins to his credit. Her older sister, Jessica, is the Marketing Coordinator & TV Host at The Meadowlands.
“We’re excited to bring Jenna on board,” said Jason Roth, Scioto’s Director of Racing. “She will preview the racing card, do on-air handicapping, paddock and winner’s circle interviews, all aimed to expand and promote the racing at Scioto.”
Otten’s first on-air duties at Scioto will be covering the Press Night qualifiers on Thursday, May 4. Joined by industry veteran Roger Huston at 5:30 p.m., they will feature the upcoming live racing season and what fans and horsemen alike can expect.
The 90-day Scioto Downs live racing season kicks off on Thursday, May 11. The typical race schedule will be Tuesdays-Saturdays with first post of 3:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 5:50 p.m. first post for Thursdays-Saturdays.
