Jenny Lake (RC Royalty) and harness racing driver Justin Huckabone captured the featured $7,500 Open 2 Trot at Vernon Downs on Saturday (July 23).

Jenny Lake ($4.30) went right to the lead and led to the first quarter in :27.4. She used a :30.2 second quarter to get to the half first in :58.1. Spoiler Alert (Claude Huckabone Jr.) was first to make a move going first-over. He couldn’t get close to Jenny Lake as she led to three-quarters in 1:27.4.
As they reached the stretch Cash N Chrome (Barton Dalious) went all out after the leader. Jenny Lake was too strong and won easily in 1:56.0. Cash N Chrome had to settle for second. Sweet Sofie T (Josh Kinney) finished third.
Jenny Lake is a 6-year-old mare trained by Paul Minckler for owners Carol Namiotka and Ed Namiotka Jr. It was her fourth win of the season and her 29th career victory.

Adam Capizzano had a training-driving double on the card getting wins with Gold Star Lambeau ($11.40), and Attention Please ($13.00). Justin Huckabone and Barton Dalious each recorded driving doubles.
