Columbus, MN – Driver Brady Jenson posted another banner night at Running Aces on Sunday (September 8), recording five driving wins on the harness racing program including an impressive 2-1/2 length tally in the $15,500 Open Handicap trot feature with his own trainee, Warrawee Whisper (Trixton).

Warawee Whisper and driver Brady Jenson (Nicole Tate Photo)

The pair left alertly from post six and battled for the early lead with Toccoa Falls (Williams Hernandez) through the :28.2 opening quarter before taking control just before the three-eighths pole.

Once on top, Jenson was able to settle his charge into a nice rhythm and they held a comfortable lead at every call from there, posting middle fractions of :57.2 and 1:25.4 while Toccoa Falls tracked in a loose pocket position and Certify (Nick Roland) traveled in third.

In the lane Warrawee Whisper ($35.20) kept to his task and was able to coast home for the upset victory while Toccoa Falls made up a touch of ground late and Majestic J (Elson Miller) rallied sharply from the back of the pack to grab the third spot.

Warawee Whisper now shows 18 career wins and earnings of $316,665. He is also owned by Jenson in partnership with Ken Stauffer.

WARAWEE WHISPER REPLAY

Jenson also scored with his trainee City By The Bay ($2.80), Cal’s Hope ($63.60) for trainer Bob Johnson, Winwood Jack ($3.00) for trainer Ariel Alvarez and Lovin On You ($8.80) for trainer Edwin Quevedo.

DP Freedoms Chrome (James Gould, $2.10) delivered another huge performance on Sunday night for his 13th straight local win, capturing the $17,500 Minnesota-sired sophomore male trot in 1:55.1 for a new career mark and a new track record.

Gould floated his charge away in fourth from post eight and made a three-wide move down the backside to take the lead as they headed into the far turn. Once on top they began to open up on the field and they rolled home with a sharp :28.2 final quarter to register the record mile with a 7-1/2 length winning margin over Finale Jetta (Jenson) and Wherever Rio Goes (Smithpeters).

It was the 20th career win from 21 career starts for the son of For You Almostfree, who is owned by Aimes Racing and is trained by Elvin Zimmerman and now shows career earnings of $160,200.

Baby Flash (Southwind Flash) (Mooney Svendsen, $2.10) posted her third straight win with an impressive five length tally in the $17,500 filly trot over Banker’s Grace (Rick Magee) and Al-Mar Puredelight (James Kennedy). Her mile in 1:56.4  also equaled the track record for sophomore fillies.

BABY FLASH REPLAY

The winner is owned by her trainer Rick Huffman as well as Keith Wilson and Brenda Lovetinsky. She now shows 19 wins from 28 career races with earnings of $153,164.

Driver Sean Smithpeters and trainer Alexia Kehl both posted doubles on the Sunday card.

Live Racing returns to Running Aces on Tuesday night (September 10) for a nine race program that will feature a pair of carryover pools: $2,834.21 for the early Pick-4 which starts in race two, and $1,939.97 for the Pick-5 Jackpot which will start in race five.
