Columbus, OH — John Leahy, the owner/breeder of harness racing world champion Jereme’s Jet (Western Hanover), has notified the USTA that the stallion died Aug. 25, 2023, at the age of 20.
Leahy said that Jereme’s Jet was retired from the breeding shed and enjoying his retirement at Schwartz Boarding Farm in Berne, Ind.
Jereme’s Jet was the Dan Patch, Nova, and O’Brien 2-year-old Pacing Colt of the Year in 2005. He won 16 of 35 lifetime starts and earned $1,519,321. His time trial mark of 1:47 came at age 4.
He stood as a stallion in Ontario and Indiana and his offspring earned $41,682,019.
