Jk Endofanera fillies sweep ISS leg

ANDERSON, Ind.—August 14, 2024—Indiana Sire Stakes continued at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Wednesday (Aug. 14) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park with a pair of Indiana Sire Stakes divisions for rookie harness racing pacing fillies featured on the 13-race card.

Brookview Fancy (JK Endofanera-Get Your Armor) and Can’ttouchthese (JK Endofanera-Can’t Touch This) each delivered as the bettor’s choice in their respective divisions in round three of six for the pacing fillies.

Brookview Fancy left from post three as the even-money favorite in the $66,500 first division which served as the ninth race on the card. Driver Joey Putnam wasted no time putting Brookview Fancy on top, leading the field of five to the quarter in :27.2. The quintet remained in straight-alignment on the backstretch with Brookview Fancy tapping the brakes to the halfway point in :56.3. Brookview Fancy extended her lead to two-lengths over pocket-sitter Kaks The Boss (Driven by Kyle Wilfong) at three-quarters in 1:25.3 while Loveyoucookie (Ricky Macomber Jr.) stalked from third.

Brookview Fancy cut the corner two-lengths clear as Loveyoucookie tipped wide to begin her rally at the top of the stretch. Loveyoucookie surged to the outside of Brookview Fancy in deep-stretch, with the fillies needing the photo-finish camera to settle the outcome. Brookview Fancy reached the wire first a head clear in 1:52.4 over the charging Loveyoucookie, with Kaks The Boss finishing third.

BROOKVIEW FANCY REPLAY

Trained by Aaron Stutzman, Brookview Fancy has won three of four on the year with each of those wins coming consecutively. Owned by James Miller, the filly sports a bankroll of $75,000. The $13,000 yearling purchase at last fall’s Hoosier Classic was bred by Brookview Farms.

Can’ttouchthese proved to be untouchable in the $67,000 second division, teaming up with driver John De Long to score at odds of 1-2.

De Long settled the favorite in the pocket position from post three while JK’s Flirty Girl crossed over to take command of the field of six through a quarter of :27.1. The order remained unchanged on the backstretch with JK’s Flirty Girl leading to the half in :56.4 before guiding the fillies to three-quarters in 1:26.1.

Turning for home, Can’ttouchthese popped pocket and quickly grabbed command away from JK’s Flirty Girl. Rocketing home in :26.2, Can’ttouchthese powered away by 3-1/2 lengths to cruise to victory in a lifetime best of 1:52.4. JK’s Flirty Girl held for the place position, with Tashish (Brandon Bates) finishing third.

CAN’TTOUCHTHESE REPLAY

Roger Welch trains Can’ttouchthese who has won three of four to begin her career. The homebred has banked $56,770 for owners Douglas Riccolo and William and Patrick De Long.

Racing continues on Thursday (Aug. 15) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park with a 13-race card set to get underway at 6:15 p.m. Two-year-old trotting colts step into the spotlight with two-divisions of Indiana Sire Stakes Thursday night to go along with $10,000 guarantees on the Late Pick 4 (races 10-13) and Hoosier High 5 (race 13).
