Monticello, NY — When the wings of the mobile starting gate folded harness racing amateur driver Joe Pennacchio bided his time with Prescott and then rallied the son of Yankee Glide to an easy 1:59.1 victory over four others. in the $7,000 North America Amateur Driver Association trot today at Monticello Raceway.
After the starter turned the field loose Andy Beiler sent Living Proof I Am toward the front but they didn’t take command until Matt Zuccarello grabbed leather and his All Night Credit yielded the lead as they passed the first stanza in :29.1.
“I had the two-hole and I got away fourth, so I came first over at the half and I made the front going down the backstretch,” Pennacchio said, and then added “The rest as they say itās history.”.
Once on top Prescott drew off to a five length lead which was shortened to 3-1/4 lengths at the wire. All NightĀ Credit finished second and Living Proof I Am (Andy Beiler) garnered the show dough.
Prescott, a 5-year-old gelding, is owned by Joe P Racing LLC and trained by Cory Stratton. He paid $2.70 for win.
