Skowhegan , Maine …. Harness racing driver Joey Mosher held the hot hand at Bangor Raceway on Wednesday (Aug. 21), lighting the board and torching the oval while posting a dominant grand slam performance under the bright lights of historic Bass Park.
Mosher made his presence felt early and often on Wednesday, scoring dramatic wins with Acefortyfour Corey (Dali, 1:58.2-$71.00), swooping from last to first in the distance of the scant furlong after the opening quarter to shock the crowd at 34-1 odds; Midnight Zette (Credit Winner, 2:00.3-$23.80), whose brief overland grind resulted in a 7-1/2 length jiggy -jog; Amarettigone (Real Desire, 2:00.2-$3.20), who soared gate-to-wire as Mosherās lone winning favorite; and Axion Hanover (Betting Line, 1:55.1-$16.00) who pounced from the pocket to secure a brand new lifetime mark despite being dissed at the windows.
Driver Aaron Hall joined Mosher in the multiple win club on Wednesday notching three wins over the course of the 13-race program while fellow teamster, Heath Campbell, brought home a triumphant pair.
Mark Harris trumped all conditioners as the action returned to Bangor on Wednesday night, parading two winning entries including Cash Crazy Express (Art Major, 1:58-$5.80) as well as the aforementioned Axion Hanover.
Bangor Raceway returns to action on Friday (August 23) with a 6:00 p.m. post time.
Windsor (Maine) Fair will then open its nine-day harness racing meet on Saturday (August 24) with a 1:00 post time. Racing will be featured daily (with the exception of Wednesday) through the traditional big 15-race program on Labor Day.
