HARRINGTON, DE – John Dixon’s Johnny Badlands (Badlands Hanover) ($3, Corey Callahan) set a new track record for 3-year-old colts Monday with a 1:51.3 win in one of a trio of $20,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund 1st leg harness racing divisions at Harrington Raceway.
The Badlands Hanover colt was a commanding front-end winner over Ds Heartland and Im Won Captainwiser. It was the 6th career win for Johnny Badlands, who isĀ trained by his owner. The mark broke the track record co-held by Slick Tony and Bags To Riches (1:51.4). It was one of 3 wins on the card for Callahan.

In the second division, George Teague Jr. and K&R Racing’s It’s Above Me Now (Southwind Lynx) ($2.80, Montrell Teague) was a 1:54.4 winner off a pocket trip for trainer Clyde Francis. Casino Bags Vincent was second with Bad And Boujee third. The Southwind Lynx gelding recorded his 2nd straight win and 5th of his career.
The final DSBF split went to the heavy favorite, Kdk Standardbreds’ Heinikin Bythebay (Southwind Lynx) ($2.10, Tim Tetrick), who has been the scourge of the division and was an easy 1:53.2 winner over It’s Pronounced Jif and Badlands N Wine. The Southwind Lynx gelding was under confident handling throughout in his wire-to-wire win for trainer Kevin Switzer. It was his 10th win in 14 career starts.
In the overnight feature, the $20,000 Open, Mike Casalino Jr. and Dylan Davis’ Shoobee Doo A (Shoobee’s Place) ($3.60, Corey Callahan) notched a 1:49.3 win over Movin On Up and Keep On Rocking A. The 7-year-old Shoobee’s Place gelding was a wire-to-wire winner, notching his 3rd win of the meet in four starts. The winning time nearly equaled the track record held by Clear Vision (1:49.2, 2013) for aged pacing geldings.Ā
Tetrick, Teague and Art Stafford Jr. each had driving doubles.
