Vernon Downs played host to two divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 3-year-old harness racing trotting fillies on Monday (May 30).
Joviality S (Chapter Seven) and driver Brian Sears cruised to easy win in the $60,300 second division.

Pioneer As (Tyler Buter) took the early lead and led to the quarter in :27.2. Joviality S ($2.10) made her move as they reached the backstretch. She came first-over from third and blew by to be first to the half in :56.2. The filly used a :28.0 third quarter to hit three-quarters first in 1:22.4.
Jovaility S look like a champion as she ran down the stretch winning effortlessly by seven lengths in a new impressive lifetime mark of 1:51.2. Pioneer As held on to take second. Little Pink Lies (Mark MacDonald) finished third.

Joviality S is a 3-year-old filly by Chapter Seven. She is owned by Courant Inc. and trained by Marcus Melander. She is two for two as a sophomore. She now has 11 career wins.
Bare My Soul (Chapter Seven), driven by Tyler Buter, flew late to capture the $60,300 first division of the NYSS.
Gettinmystepsin (Andy Miller) led to the first quarter in :26.1. Cash Infusion (Mark MacDonald) took control heading to the backstretch and was first to the half in :55.3. Seven On The Rocks (John Stark Jr.) came first-up and challenged going around the final turn. Cash Infusion continued to lead to three-quarters in 1:23.1.
As they made the turn for home Cash Infusion had a short lead but Bare My Soul ($9.80) came flying like she was shot out of a cannon and won easily in a lifetime best of 1:52.1. The big favorite, Valentina Blu (Andrew McCarthy) came on late but had to settle for second money. Seven On The Rocks finished third
