WASHINGTON, PA, Oct. 18, 2023 — Joygo (Nuncio-Eleventeen) slipped off the cones to follow live first-over cover, brushed through the lane and captured Wednesday’s $21,200 Open Handicap harness racing trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Once Justin Walters found that golden spot for Joygo behind Stay Close, the 4-year-old gelding did the rest himself, holding off the Ron Burke-trained duo of Black Hope and Jeffery P, both rallying from well back, to triumph at 9-2 in 1:54.
Lance Barber trains Joygo, who pushed his career bankroll to $120,469, and owns with Sonya Barber.
Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. collected four wins and Aaron Merriman three on the 13-race card.
