Palone wins five including feature

WASHINGTON, PA, Aug. 14, 2021 — A patient K Ryan Bluechip saved the best for last, barreling wide through the lane to capture Saturday’s harness racing feature at The Meadows, a $12,800 Conditioned Pace, and notch the 50th win of his career.

Dave Palone was content to put K Ryan Bluechip third in the outside flow, confident of how much horse he would have coming home. The 9-year-old Art Major-Fool That I Am gelding justified that faith, roaring past the leader, Acton Hanover, and holding off Whos Better by a head in 1:51.2. Captainfabulous completed the ticket.

Mike Palone trains K Ryan Blue Chip, who has earned $640,646 and hit the board 105 times in 179 lifetime starts, and owns with Stephen Ronay.

It was one of five victories on the 13-race card for Dave Palone, including a pair for brother/trainer Mike.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday when the program features a $13,338.60 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5.
