Harness racing driver Matt Kakaley had six winners, three for trainer Travis Alexander, on Wednesday night’s (October 27) card at Yonkers Raceway.
Kakaley and Alexander joined forces to win the $20,000 opener with 3-year-old pacing filly Nuttinbuthebest (1:53.4), and then Kakaley teamed with trainer Edwin Quevedo for a 27-1 upset with 7-year-old pacing gelding Fox Valley Inferno (1:52.2) in the $32,000 third race.
Yankees Beast, a 5-year-old gelding trotter, gave the Kakaley/Alexander duo a double when he took the $13,500 fifth race (1:56.4), and D P Rocket, a 5-year-old trotting mare, completed their hat trick when she bagged the $36,000 ninth race (1:56.1).

Three-year-old pacing filly Thebeachiscalling (1:53.4), trained by Chris Ryder, was Kakaley’s fifth winner in the $22,000 tenth race, and Kakaley polished off the six-bagger by steering 7-year-old gelding trotter Resita, a Tabitha Teresczuk trainee, to victory in the $21,000 11th race (1:56.4).
In other news from Yonkers, there were no winners in either the Pick 5 or Pick 6 on Wednesdayās card. There’ll be a $3,237.68 carryover and a $10,000 guaranteed pool in tomorrow night’s (October 28) Pick 5, and there will be a $2,680.73 carryover in the Pick 6.
The guarantee in the Pick 5 is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Associationās Strategic Wagering Program. Ā The Pick 5, which begins in race five, and the Pick 6, which starts in the third race, both have a takeout rate of 20 percent.
