Monticello, NY— Kj Unreal (So Surreal, Jim Taggart Jr) went gate to wire in the $6,200 harness racing pace at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday (Mar. 19).
Kj Unreal took the early lead, followed by Cr Dudley (Rick Harp). Trevor’s Ace (Fern Paquet Jr) was racing in third as they came to the first quarter mile in :28.1. As they passed the half mile in :58.1, Giveitatry A (Charles Poynton) rushed from the outside to challenge Cr Dudley for second. At the three-quarter mile in 1:27, Kj Unreal was holding on to the lead, with Cr Dudley and Giveitatry A neck and neck for second. Kj Unreal crossed the wire in 1:56.3. Cr Dudley came in second and Trevor’s Ace finished in third.

Kj Unreal is a 5-year-old gelding trained by Gary Messenger for owners Scott Woogen and Brenda Messenger. He paid $6.00 to win.
Michael Merton and Jim Taggart Jr got driving doubles. Gary Messenger got a training double.
