WASHINGTON, PA, May 3, 2023 — Lady Newton (Sweet Lou-Im Sassy) held off a determined challenge from Creme Delight to capture Wednesday’s (May 3) harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

Lady Newton took the field through a 1:24 three-quarters in the slop, but when Creme Delight angled off the cones nearing the final turn, the battle was on. Aaron Merriman kept Lady Newton to her task, and she defeated Creme Delight by 1/2 length in 1:52.4. Slick Artist A finished third.
