Lady Saturn swoops late to win

Lady Saturn (Brett Crawford) captures the featured $11,000 fillies & mares’ harness racing pace at Tioga Downs on Friday (July 11).

Smooch (Jim Pantaleano) led to the quarter in :28.2.  Charming Vixen (Dan Rawlings) took control with a lap to go and was first to the half in :57.3.  Prairie Magical (Braxten Boyd) was the first to make a move going first-up down the backstretch.  Charming Vixen led to three-quarters in 1:25.0.

As they reached the stretch third place finisher Charming Vixen held the lead, but second place finisher Quarrel (Mike Merton) and Lady Saturn ($7.90) came flying down the lane.  Lady Saturn got there first in 1:53.2.

Lady Saturn is a 4-year-old mare by Huntsville.  She is owned by Dragon Tales Farm and trained by Michelle Crawford. It was her fourth win this season.  She now has 12 career victories.

LADY SATURN REPLAY

Jim Pantaleano drove three winners on the card.  Dan Rawlings and Braxten Boyd had driving doubles.  Jose Godinez had a training double.
