Last Call for the Meadowlands Weiner Dog Derby

East Rutherford, NJ – Saturday, June 4th is the last day to register for the Meadowlands Racetrack’s 4th annual Weiner Dog Derby which takes place on Saturday, July 11th.

The registered dachshunds will be competing for the $500 Grand Prize in between the live horse races. Live harness racing kicks off at 6:20 p.m.

The Weiner Derby will feature up to eight qualifying heats (depending on the number of entrants) with the top canine from each heat advancing to the final. The first qualifying heat is at 6:45 p.m. The Wiener Dog Derby Final will take place on the racetrack after Race 8 at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The derby takes place in the racetrack’s Backyard and admission and parking are free.

Fans, family and friends are encouraged to come out and cheer on their favorite hound. Just remember only participating dogs are allowed at the track, no spectator dogs permitted.
