Two harness racing divisions of the $18,000 condition claiming pace were contested on Friday (Nov. 21) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway, where a pair of sophomore pacing geldings used similar trips to capture their respective divisions in identical 1:51.4 miles.

Odds On Mad Hatter

Odds On Mad Hatter (Luke Hanners) took the first division with a front stepping 1:51.4 mile to record his fifth straight victory over the Dayton oval.

Rockinpoppin (Tyler Smith) received the first call, but Hanners had Odds On Mad Hatter quickly on top before the opening quarter in :27.2.

The field had respect for the heavy favorite and the eventual winners was allowed a comfortable :56.1 half and 1:24.2 three-quarters.

Who Dey Nation (Jeremy Smith) applied mild pressure in the final turn, but Odds On Mad Hatter sprinted home in :27.2 over the fast track to defeat the pocket sitting Rockinpoppin by 1 1/4 lengths.

Who Dey Nation was another quarter length back in third.
