Grove City, Ohio – A winner in 12 of 18 starts this season, Bath Bomb (Lather Up) has been selected as the Ohio 2025 Aged Mare Pacer of the Year.

The 4-year-old Lather Up mare out of Sangaal hit the board in 16 of her 18 starts on the year, adding two second-place and two third-place finishes to her 12 wins en route to banking $375,950. Those numbers are a marked improvement from her 2024 campaign when she tallied three victories and $109,860 in earnings.
Bred by Mark Smith and owned by Morrison Racing Stables, Bath Bomb raced primarily in Kentucky in 2025. Among her highlight wins was the $100,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Final on May 11 and the $150,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Final on June 24. She recorded a lifetime mark of 1:49.1 on Aug. 18 at The Red Mile.
The Per Engblom trainee has hit the board in 25 of 33 lifetime starts with 15 wins and $485,810 in earnings.
“I got her in training after her 2-year-old season, so I’ve trained her for two years now, and she’s been very good,” Engblom said.
“She’s professional when it comes to the races. She can take any type of trip and still manage to finish up front most of time.”
Bath Bomb will be honored at the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association Annual Awards Banquet on Jan. 10, 2026, at the Renaissance Columbus-Westerville in Westerville, Ohio. Seats are sold out. The 2025 Ohio Horse of the Year will be announced at the awards banquet.
