Northfield, Ohio–Once again Lauren Harmon was in the harness racing winner’s circle after she reined Vegas Ticket to a 1:57.3 victory Sunday, July 10 in a Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association trot at Northfield Park. The talented miss, who competes mostly against men, surely holds her own matter who she’s racing against.
In Sunday’s $8,000 trot Harmon was up behind Vegas Ticker (Manofmanymissions) from the six-hole and she left slowly and was fifth at the quarter in 27.4 as John Payne showed the way with Impressive Chief.
Content to travel along the pylons by the half in :57.1 when she headed up the backside for the three-quarters she moved her trotter out in second horse position and continued her forward motion.
Still fourth at the three quarters in 1:26.4 she hustled her charge at the head of the lane and in the home stretch she began to pick up horses moving toward the lead and in the deep stretch her Vegas Ticket was punched a winner in the 1:57.3 mile.
It was an all-lady exacta when Christina Johnson garnered second place with Go Go George. So Wishful earned the show dough for Larry Ferrari.
