WASHINGTON, PA, June 21, 2024 — Harness racing amateur driver Lauren Harmon and Rattling Pine (Dejarmbro-Pinery) confidently retook the lead near the half and held off the late charge of the race favorite, Stephen Oldford (Chin Chin Hall) to capture Friday’s $10,000 leg of the Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association (GLADA) Trot at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

It’s the second Meadows GLADA victory in the last month for the team of Harmon and Rattling Pine.

Harmon outdueled Dirk Simpson (Major’s Song) for the early lead but temporarily released Michael Burke (Headoverboots As). Not for long, though, as Harmon authoritatively reclaimed the point and had plenty left to turn back Oldford, defeating him by 1-1/4 lengths in a career-best 1:53.4. Tom Svrcek (Troycen) and Simpson rounded out the ticket.

Brandon Presto trains Rattling Pine, an 8-year-old gelding who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $225,928, for Rocco Stebbins.

RATTLING PINE REPLAY

Pressured on the lead for much of the mile, Good Feeln To Know (Trixton-Gentle True Spirit) still was strong enough to draw away late and score easily in Friday’s feature, a $13,000 Conditioned Trot.

Good Feeln To Know and driver Dave Palone

Dave Palone sent Good Feeln To Know to the point, where he was dogged immediately by Battin Athousand from post 8 and Commander Frank from post 9, who continued his pursuit until about the three-quarters. But the 5-year-old gelding was just as determined, widening his advantage to prevail by 4 lengths in a career-beat 1:52.2.

Nick Kozar trains Good Feeln To Know for Jack Piatt III and Howard Alexander.

GOOD FEELN TO KNOW REPLAY

Hunter Myers and trainer Brandon Presto each enjoyed a four-bagger on the 13-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Saturday, first post 12:45 PM.
