FORT WASHINGTON, Md. — Tribbett Racing’s Layton Hanover sustained an extended first-over grind before withstanding a pair of late challenges en route to a 1:51.3 harness racing win in Monday’s (Oct. 27) $12,000 Open Handicap Pace at Rosecroft Raceway.

In line to Roger Plante Jr., Layton Hanover landed in fourth behind a :26.3 first quarter before commencing his uncovered ascent into Winbak Willy T (driven by Lucas Myers) approaching the :54.4 half. The two dueled past three-quarters in 1:22.3 before Layton Hanover seized the lead turning for home, and the 6-year-old Captaintreacherous-Livin Life gelding narrowly held off a pair of closers in runner-up R N B Band (Trae Porter) and third-place finisher A Major Attitude (Justin Walters) to score his second consecutive win.
