Dayton, Ohio – The cold, the snow, and Let It Ride N (Rock N Roll Heaven) made the $22,000 Open Pace on Saturday (Nov. 12) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway a memorable one.

At 4-1, Let It Ride N passed them all by to take the harness racing Open Pace in 1:51.

Let It Ride N and driver Tony Hall

The 9-year-old gelded raced conservatively from the back of the pack. Driven by Tony Hall, Let It Ride N got away second to last but sat patiently as the opening quarter came in :26.2. When the field reached the half in :55.3, Let It Ride N spotted his chance. Following cover, the gelding was third over as they passed the three-quarters pole in 1:22.3. At the top of the stretch, Let It Ride N hit his gear and flew by the competition in 1:51.

Even money favorite He’zzz A Wise Sky (Tyler Smith) finished second with reigning open champion Later Dudes (Chris Page) in third.

LET IT RIDE N REPLAY

The victory marked the tenth of the season for Let It Ride N. Trained by Michael Hitchcock, the gelding has hit the board 22 of 29 tries. Let It Ride N has now banked $132,090 in 2022 and is just shy of $678,000 in lifetime earnings. He is owned in partnership by William Hartt and Enzed Racing Stable.

At conclusion of the 14-race card, Jeremy Smith led drivers with five victories, winning races 1, 2, 4, 12, and 13.  Hall and Josh Sutton followed behind with driving doubles.

Dayton Raceway further celebrated Veteran’s Day this evening with their second annual Myheroes event. Fourteen organizations representing active-duty military, veterans, and first responders were hosted trackside as a thank you for their service to our country and communities. Each race on the card was dedicated to a specific branch of service, organization, or first-responder discipline. Representatives were invited into the winner’s circle and enjoyed starting gate rides throughout the night.

Live racing will resume Tuesday (Nov. 15) at Dayton Raceway with first post at 4:00PM. Free programs are always available here online. For more information on Myheroes and the live racing season, visit here.
