Lit De Rose (Leader Bayama) continued her harness racing winning ways and easily handled a class hike, capturing the $33,000 Fillies & Mares Open Handicap Pace Friday (Dec. 2) at Yonkers Raceway.
Starting from post two in the 8th race feature, trainer-driver Pat Lachance sent race favorite Lit De Rose right to the early lead with Andra Day (Matt Kakaley) sitting on their backs to the first quarter in :27.3.
Going to the half mile, Delitfulcatherin N (Jordan Stratton) came first-over with Sheikh Yabooty N (Austin Siegelman) second-over as Lit De Rose tripped the half mile marker in :57.4.
Down the backstretch, Delitfulcatherin could not gain ground on Lit De Rose past the three-quarters in 1:26.1. Off the final turn, Lachance let Lit De Rose have her head and she pulled away for a three length triumph in 1:54. Andra Day was second with Deliftulcatherin N third.
LIT DE ROSE REPLAY
It was the seventh win this year for Lit De Rose. She was bred and is owned by Guy Corbeil of Quebec and paid $3.90 to win.
Just at The Meadows had a dead heat for win finish today, so did Yonkers Friday in the 7th race $21,000 F & M Pace as the photo finish camera could not separate Man Dontforget Me (Manhart) and Violets Rainbow (Art Official) at the wire.
Man Dontforget Me ($2.60) cut the mile from the start for driver Jordan Stratton while Violets Rainbow ($7.00) and driver Matt Kakaley got a second-over trip. The mile went in 1:54.
