Little movement in Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll

There was little movement in the Week 2 harness racing edition of the Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll released Tuesday, with the only shift in positions occurring with Captain’s Quarters moving from No. 9 to No. 8 in a swap of spots with Hellabalou.

Hellabalou was the only horse in the Top 10 to compete since last week’s debut rankings. He finished third in an invitational pace at MGM Yonkers Raceway.

Nijinsky, Twin B Joe Fresh, and Karl remained in the top-three positions in the poll. Its A Love Thing and Highland Kismet completed the top five.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which will be released every Tuesday through the remainder of the Grand Circuit season, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
