Whether he races from last place on the final turn, or is on the lead, or is parked-over first-over for most of the race, there is no stopping Little Rocket Man (Rockin Image) as his posted his fourth straight harness racing victory Saturday (May 20) at Eldorado Scioto Downs in the $37,000 Invitational Pace.
The 12th race feature saw Gold Digger King (Tyler Smith) go out to the early lead with Odds On Shaggy (Tony Hall) getting the two-hole trip as they sped to the first quarter in :27.
Then Sectionline Bigry (Chris Page) came first-over from fourth place with Charlie May (Brett Miller), who was making his first start since October of last year, took up second-over as the field past the half mile marker in :55.2.
Then in the backstretch it was the race favorite Little Rocket Man and driver Jeremy Smith flushed out first-over and moving up to second place on the outside against Gold Digger King passing the three-quarters in 1:23.
Around the final turn and heading down the stretch, Little Rocket Man powered his way to take command and went on in the stretch to win by two lengths in 1:50, the last quarter in :26.4. Charlie May was able to nose out Sectionline Bigry for second place.
LITTLE ROCKET MAN REPLAY
The victory was the seventh win in nine starts this year for Little Rocket Man. The seven-year-old gelding is trained by Ken Rucker for owners Russell Beeman and Jack Freeman of Anderson, IN. Little Rocket Man paid $3.60 to win.
With his victory tonight, Little Rocket Man has earned $137,350 in 2023, already $8,396 more than he earned in all of 2022.
