Little Rocket Man (Rockin Image) once again showed his ability to grind it out first-over, this time in capturing the $25,500 Open Pace at Harrah’s Hoosier Park Friday (April 21).
The 10th race feature, over a track labled good with a one second allowance, got underway with General Dolan (Trace Tetrick) taking the field to the opening quarter mile in :26.4.
With Yourwishisgranted (Ricky Macomber) sitting the two-hole trip, they raced single file with General Dolan leading past the half mile marker in :55.1.
Then in the backstretch, driver John De Long started up first-over from third place and came after General Dolan, getting up to second place on outside as they passed the three-quarters in 1:24.
By the top of the stretch, Little Rocket Man was just a head away from taking the lead from General Dolan. Little Rocket Man then took command coming down the stretch and went on to win by one and one-quarter lengths in 1:50.3. Yourwishisgranted came on for second place with General Dolan third.
