The overwhelming 1/5 harness racing favorite, Jiggy Jog S (Walner) came off live cover on the final turn and jogged to victory in the $175,000 FanDuel Championship for trotting fillies and mares Saturday (Nov. 25) at The Meadowlands.
Bond, the lone three-year-old in the field, was first on the lead for driver-trainer Ake Svanstedt with M-Mās Dream (David Miller) in second and Jiggy Jog S and driver Dexter Dunn in third.
Bond would lead the field to the first quarter in :27.4, then to the half mile in a soft :57.2. Then the action heated up in the backstretch as Dunn started Jiggy Jog S to the outside and was able to flush the pocket-sitting M-Mās Dream first-over. They passed the three-quarters in 1:27.
Off the final turn, Bond was still in command with M-Mās Dream challenging and three-wide and closing was Jiggy Jog S. As they closed down the stretch, Dunn never had to raise his whip and line drove Jiggy Jog S past M-Mās Dream and Bond to win with ease by two and one-quarter lengths in 1:53.1. Bond was second with M-Mās Dream third. The last quarter for Jiggy Jog S was an impressive :26 seconds.

āNot many trotters have as good a turn of foot as she does. We got a good helmet in following Davey (Miller),ā said Dexter Dunn. āAnd once we moved, she just showed her speed.ā
