Longshot Prairie Magical delivers value

Prairie Magical (Leon Bailey) captures the $8,000 featured fillies & mares’ harness racing pace at Tioga Downs on Friday (August 29).

Blue Glamber (Jim Pantaleano) led to the quarter in :27.3.  He used a :28.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :55.4.  PL Portia (Greg Merton) came first-up going down the backstretch and led to three quarters in 1:23.4.

As they reached the stretch the race became wide open.  Third place finisher Ladytario (Aaron Byron) took a short lead.  Prairie Magical ($20.20) came flying down the stretch and took over.  Second Place finisher Huntressville A (Mike Merton) made a late bid but Prairie Magical held on to win in 1:54.1.

Prairie Magical is a 5-year-old mare by Royel Millennium.  She is owned and trained by Laurie Poulin.  It was her third win this season.  She now has 12 career victories.

Tyler Miller had a driving hat trick.  Mike Austin had a training double.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (August 30) with a post time of 6:15 p.m.
