Lexington, KY — On Sunday (Aug. 11) the promising Looksgoodinloulou (Sweet Lou) and Kentucky champion Date Night Hanover (Chapter Seven-Don’t Wait Up) captured their respective second round harness racing legs of the $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship Series (KYSS) events for freshman and sophomore filly pacers and trotters at The Red Mile.
Looksgoodinloulou (Yannick Gingras) sprung a pocket trip to score over Duration (Todd McCarthy) and Champagne Room (Andrew McCarthy) in 1:50.2 to equal her lifetime mark in her second career start.
Champagne Room led the field of six through splits of :27.1 and :56.1 but Looksgoodinloulou seized the lead at the three-quarter mile marker to establish command in 1:24.3. Duration, who was sitting in third throughout the mile, came after the leader with a torrid :25.4 final panel. Looksgoodinloulou, however, paced to the wire in :25.3. Champagne Room held for third.
Looksgoodinloulou remained undefeated in her second pari-mutuel mile. The daughter of the world champion mare Looksgoodinaromper is trained by Ron Burke.

Date Night Hanover (Dexter Dunn) made her return to the Bluegrass a victorious one after breaking stride in the $525,000 Hambletonian Oaks final to set a new lifetime mark of 1:51.2 in the (KYSS) division for 3-year-old filly pacers.
While favored Allegiant (Scott Zeron) controlled the front end of the field of nine through fractions of :28.2, :56.3 and 1:24.3, Date Night Hanover sat in fifth position and did not make her move until the fillies turned for home. That is when the filly unleashed her closing kick and laid down a :26.1 final quarter mile to beat Allegiant home. Spy Coast (Gingras) was the best of the rest.
Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, Date Night Hanover, was purchased by Jeffrey Snyder and Onda Farms for $600,000 at the 2022 Standardbred Horse Sale. The filly is a half sibling to Delayed Hanover (Southwind Frank, $682,917).
Trained by Marcus Melander, Date Night Hanover, is now 21-6-0-5 and has banked $471,109. The filly won the $128,000 Zweig Memorial for 3-year-old females and was third in the $125,000 Delvin Miller Memorial prior to her miscue in the Hambletonian Oaks final.
Date Night Hanover paid $4.58 to win as the public’s second choice.

Pisco Sour Collects Second Straight Win in Commonwealth Series
Pisco Sour (Walner-Blessed) and driver Tim Tetrick scored by a neck over Butter And Syrup (Peter Wrenn) in 1:53.1 to take the $30,000 second leg of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series for 3-year-old filly trotters. Stubborn Chee (Dexter Dunn) was third.
Trained by Ake Svanstedt, Pisco South won the first leg of the series and improved her slate to 5-3-0-1 on the season. Her career record stands at 14-4-0-5 and she has earned $97,370.
Pisco Sour is owned by Jorgen Sparredal Inc. and was bred Steve Stewart, Black Creek Farm and Harri Koskela. She was a $110,000 yearling purchase at the 2022 Lexington Selected Yearling Sale.
Pisco Sour was the post time favorite and paid $5.34 to win.
Tetrick and Svanstedt also won the second leg of the Commonwealth Series for 3-year-old trotting fillies with Star Attraction (Chapter Seven-Selena G. House Of Love (Julien Dubois) was second and Santa Croce (T. McCarthy) was third.
She. competes as a homebred for Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld. She stopped the clock in a new lifetime best of 1:52.2 in her first win of the season.
Star Attraction is now 11-2-3-2 from two seasons of competition and has earned $69,933 in purse money.
She paid $10.48 to win.
Favored Rose provided Gingras and Burke with Commonwealth Series score as the daughter of Sweet Lou-Rosemary Rose improved to 4-3-1-0 with a new mark of 1:50.3 in the second $30,000 leg for 2-year-old filly pacers. Miki And Minnie (A. McCarthy) was second and Unreasonable (Zeron) was third.
Rose was bred by Burke Racing Stable, Jason Melillo and Weaver Bruscemi. She is owned by her conditioner, Weaver Bruscemi, Jack Piatt III and Lawrence Karr.
The filly is the first foal out of a dam that amassed $620,209 in purse money.
Rose paid to win as the favorite.
Chakra (Lather Up-Holy Trinity) and driver Anibal Borjas defeated favored Three Times Bettor (A. McCarthy) by a neck in 1:51.4 to take the second leg of the Commonwealth Series for 2-year-old filly pacers. Hip Shot (Zeron) was third.
It was her first victory in just her third trip to the gate. She is now 3-1-1-0 after finishing second in the first leg of this series for trainer Tony Alagna.
Chakra is owned by her conditioner and Pryde Stables. She was bred by Crawford Farms and was a $25,000 yearling purchase at the 2023 Standardbred Horse Sale under the name Vivie Magdalena.
The filly paid $19.24 to break her maiden.
Racing continues on Monday (Aug. 12) at The Red Mile with a first post of 1 p.m. The 18-race card includes two $80,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Championship events, four $30,000 Kentucky Commonwealth contests, five $15,000 legs of the Kentucky Goldenrod Series and two $10,000 divisions of the Wildcat Series.
