After getting parked out to the opening quarter mile, Major Nemesis and driver Lewayne Miller let no one pass them by as they scored a romp in the $26,000 final of The Mega Bowl Saturday at Harrahās Hoosier Park.
The final of the claiming series was the tenth race on card and saw ER Rocky (John Delong) out leave Major Nemesis from post seven to take command off the starting gate.
But Miller and Major Nemesis had other plans and despite getting parked out to the opening quarter mile in :26.4, they were not going to let anyone pass them by.
They led to the half mile marker in :55 with Major Nemesis and ER Rocky pulling away from the field to lead by three at the three-quarters in 1:23.4.
And then Major Nemesis kicked in another gear in the stretch, going on to win in a romp by four and one-half lengths. ER Rocky held for second with a dead heat between Manny (joey Putnam) and Crusher (Matt Krueger).
MAJOR NEMESIS REPLAY
For Major Nemesis it was his second win this season. The eight-year-old gelded son of Big Bad John is trained by Tyler George and owned by VIP Internet Stable, JB Boyce and Eleven Star Stables. He paid $4.60 to win as the wagering favorite.
